The Drum Barracks Civil War Museum offers two educational programs designed specifically to engage students: Regular School Tours and the Living History School Program. It is our goal to provide a memorable tour for the hundreds of schoolchildren who visit us and instill in them an understanding of life during the Civil War. We request one chaperone per 10 children, a $1.00 donation per child, and a $5 donation per adult. Your organization may issue a check to Drum Barracks Garrison & Society for the donation amount, or you may pay by cash, or credit card at the time of your tour. This is an optional donation and is appreciated but not mandatory.
This program is open to groups of 10-30 students, and is appropriate for students of all ages. This program consists of a Museum Tour and lasts from 60 to 90 minutes.
A museum tour can be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at 10:30 am or 12:30 pm. Reservations are required and must be made at least two weeks in advance. For additional information or to schedule a school tour contact the Drum Barracks Civil War Museum at 310.548.7509 or drumbarracks@gmail.com.
